THERE’S AN OLD SAYING THAT IT’S NOT JUST THE TEENAGER WHO GOES THROUGH ADOLESCENCE BUT THE WHOLE FAMILY.

Parents of teens are navigating one of the most meaningful and rewarding stages of parenting as their children grow into confident, independent young adults. With more than 25 years of experience working in schools as an educator and therapist, I understand the academic, social, emotional, and developmental experiences teens and their families encounter. I help teens and parents build on their strengths, strengthen communication, and develop practical strategies that foster resilience, confidence, and lasting family connections.

With teens, I tailor my approach to the developmental needs of early, middle, or late adolescence. Middle and late adolescents often appreciate having their own supportive space in which they can reflect on who they’re becoming in the world while exploring their strengths, goals, and future.

Within that supportive and encouraging environment, I help teens develop greater self-awareness, emotional intelligence, confidence, and decision-making skills as they discover their values and build the foundation for adulthood.

Parents want their children to grow into responsible and well-integrated adults, and together we can support that journey by finding the right balance between encouraging independence and fostering responsibility. I help parents strengthen their relationships with their teens while creating opportunities for open communication, mutual respect, and continued connection.

I believe that adolescence is an exciting season of growth for the entire family. As teens develop greater independence, families have the opportunity to build relationships based on trust, respect, understanding, and lifelong connection.
